Wine Auctions

Gilbert Baitson LLP is a family business in its fourth generation. Since its inception  in 1935 we have conducted almost 8000 auction sales which have included almost everything including Herr Himmler’s Spectacles, 40,000 set of false teeth, a Doberman dog and a donkey.

Based in Kingston-upon-Hull, City of Culture 2017, our auction rooms are on Anlaby Road opposite the KC Stadium, we not only conduct weekly auctions of General Household effects but also hold specialised auctions (as listed below), either on site or in our own auction rooms.

  • Antique and Collectables
  • Joinery and Engineering
  • Catering and Medical
  • Plant and Machinery
  • Motor Vehicles
  • Pre and Post-Liquidation Auctions
  • End of Line and Overstocks
  • Pre-Renovation or Demolition

All our Auction Sales are hosted on two online platforms with mirrored bidding to maximise the price for the vendor. Working with ATG Media we have the potential to attract over 1,000,000 buyers from around the world.

We have three operational auction rooms, fork lift trucks and transport thus enabling us to accommodate any manner of goods to be offered for auction. We take instructions from Insolvency Practitioners, Liquidators, Company Directors, Solicitors, Insurance Companies, Loss Adjusters, Finance Companies, Local PLCs, Local Authorities, Private and National Health Services and last, but not least, the General Public.

The excitement of the occasion has long been an attraction to sell and buy at public auctions, as well as the knowledge that on the fall of the hammer, a contract is secured. Auctions are an excellent way to buy and sell many assets, goods and chattels and a well-run and conducted auction is a fast and efficient method of turning unwanted and redundant belongings into cash.

There’s nothing quite like a day in the saleroom!

We offer a free valuation service for private individuals who bring their items to our auction rooms or, alternatively, we can make domiciliary visits to offer advice on either full or partial clearances.

We also provide Valuation services to Company Directors and Insolvency Practitioners for the purpose of pre and post liquidation asset valuations and assets disposal.
