Information for Sellers
Delivery of Goods to the Auction Rooms
Gilbert Baitson LLP operate our own van and team to collect and deliver items, we can also recommend removers and packers to collect and deliver goods from single items to entire house contents.
We receive goods each Thursday and Friday between 9 am – 4.30pm.
We strongly advise sellers to telephone the Auction Rooms 01482 500500 before delivering any items.
Commission is charged on the total (hammer price) value of sales and all lots are subject to a lotting fee. Our company also conduct on-site auctions in a similar manner to saleroom auctions attracting a different fee structure for the vendor.
Gilbert Baitson LLP are happy to provide a pre-sale estimate for items submitted for sale and offer a free verbal appraisal based on fair market value. If you are considering submitting goods for sale we can conduct a walk through valuation on site by appointment. This service is free locally but depending on location, travelling expenses may be incurred. We also have a walk-in appraisal afternoon during our viewing period every Tuesday in our rooms (other times by appointment). Where we have items of a unique nature specialist advertising will be undertaken and any charges fully discussed with the client in advance.
Payment to Vendors
Payment can be made by cheque, cash or bank transfer usually within ten days of the auction. All payments are subject to receipt of monies from buyers.
